Research Field
Recent discovery of Cardiac Stem Cells (CSCs) in the adult mammalian heart has revealed continuous turnover of cardiomyocytes, and I have been involved intensively in the characterization of these cells. The ongoing clinical trial utilizing autologous CSCs on chronic ischemic heart failure has shown very promising preliminary outcome. I would like to introduce this new therapeutic option to Japan.
