Role of Green Finance in Achieving Energy Security in East-Asia
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the global economic recessions, the ongoing investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects is expected to fall drastically. This could threaten the expansion of green energy needed to enhance energy security and meet SDG7 and SDG13. This means that the world needs to scale up “Green Finance” to connect financial resources and businesses with environmentally friendly activities in the Post-COVID-19. This webinar aims to gather senior-level experts of energy, environment, economics, and finance fields from academia, think-tanks, and industry from Japan, China, Singapore, and Australia to discuss: i. The role of green finance in promoting renewable energy projects in East-Asia and ii. The role of renewable energy and regional cooperation in enhancing energy security in East-Asia.
